Mike Phelan yesterday made a sensational statement when he claimed that United would have signed a top top player had Fergie and David Gill still been in the job. Various sources are today reporting that this player was none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. He had delayed his contract extension until the end of the season because he wanted to leave. But seeing Fergie leave, he wasnt entirely convinced in Uniteds new management. He wasnt convinced that United would be the same under David Moyes. He hence chose to extend his contract at Madrid and remain there. Without losing any love for CR7, all I would like to say is I am terribly disappointed that he didnt believe in the club. Thus I hope Cristiano doesnt end up with any trophy at Madrid. And I would like another United-Madrid encounter in the Champs League and United booting out Madrid. Let Ronaldo feel the Red Devils.
