Mike Wallace, George Stephanopoulos, Hannity, Oreilly, Rachel - TopicsExpress

Mike Wallace, George Stephanopoulos, Hannity, Oreilly, Rachel Maddow et al and my personal favorite, Chris Matthews, all do a great job with the news, the facts, the spin. They all do great playing Hardball. Well, I think it is time for a change. I think it is time to play Softball. I think it is time for a show that asks the major players, those not so tough minor questions. Join me this fall for SOFTBALL: the lighter side of heavy news. Ill sit down with Putin, not about Crimea or Ukraine or the rebirth of Russian aggression and nationalism. Ill find out once and for all: Is it true that you had the jungle fever thing going for Condi? Ill get Netanyahu to come clean, not on his desire for a two state solution, but whether or not he wears boxers or briefs. Ill do shallow surface reporting and uncover just why we arent signing up outgoing first families for unemployment insurance and SNAP benefits to avoid the kind of poverty narrowly avoided by the Clintons. Let other shows dig into why ESPN personality Steven Smith says dumb things or whether or not openly gay NFL draftee Michael Sam is getting a fair shake. I will ask, Smith at what point does he either get implants or rock a baldie and who but me will ask Sam that nagging question on the minds of everyone, gay and straight, since the now infamous draft day kiss: a white boy, really? Plus weekly features: Ask a Mime. Short Person of the Week. What Some People Eat (a weekly unscientific survey of 13-27 of my family members about their last meal) You want the news, try ABC, NBC, ESPN, FOX and CNN (okay maybe not those last two). You want to play it soft, join me, for SOFTBALL. Coming this Fall. (Okay, I am only kidding and am obviously having a serious bout with insomnia this morning, but when you think about it, is this any crazier than Sarah Palin launching a $9.95/month web channel?) Off to the gym.
