Mike was on GSUs website yesterday & read that they closed school down for the day yesterday @ 11 A.M. & closing it today too due to the weather. Theyre calling for snow, ice, rain, below freezing temperatures (single digits), fog. I told him to make sure hes extremely careful when hes out walking in it so he doesnt slip & fall & hurt the left shoulder. He said hell be careful. Im sure he will be, cause if he hurts it, itll delay his getting to play football again. Mike & I are happy not hearing him sounding frantic to start working out & wanting to start playing. Mike asked him if the coaches are asking him about spring football & he said Miss Brandy probably wont let me. Shes the head athletic trainer & head of sports medicine @ GSU. We were glad to hear that because we agree with that. We were told about 6 months to fully rehab from the surgery, which would be until June. But, then again, hes really rehabing extremely well. Hes doing better & faster than they thought. They were really happy when he got back to school to see how well he was doing. But, thats Matt. Hes a hard worker & always has been. He pushes himself harder than the coaches could push him (No offense intended NCT coaches). One of his first coaches with the Police Athletic League, Gary Fields, taught him the fundamentals of football & was a positive influence in his life.
