It doesnt free the thousands of Palestinian prisoners, it does not force Israel to lift the siege on Gaza, its not going to improve the lives of Palestinians one bit. But it relieves the pressure off of the Europeans as though to say were doing something. Well if youre going to do something make it count. This notion that you can maintain an apartheid regime over eighty per cent of Palestine and then somehow free a small portion of Palestine which is the West Bank and Gaza - two artificially delineated regions. You cant say, well these areas will be exempt from the racist apartheid regime, but other parts wont be - it is absurd. You either fight racism and fight the apartheid regime that Israel imposed on Palestine and replace it with a real democracy or you accept racism. You cant parcel out the country and say there will be racism over here but there will be no racism over there. You either fight the regime and replace it with a democracy or you allow it to stay.
