Milford 1 Strand Rovers 3 Today saw us travel to take on Milford after our weekend off last weekend. Milford started britely and showed that the meant business passing the ball about sharply and making us work for everything in all areas of the field. At times we lost our shape and left space for Milford to play into and it eventually paid off for the home team when the strand defense failed to clear the ball and the Milford striker tucked it away to make it 1-0. Strand tried hard to get back into game and had numerous opportunites but failed to hit the target and it finished at half time to the better of the 2 teams Milford 1 strand 0, Second half and 2 substitutions for strand and we came out flying, Hugh improvement on first half with positioning a lot better and better passages of play with chances coming thick and thin until it fell to Doalty Boyle to neatly score the equaliser, game on. Strands heads then up they played a lot of good football in the Milford half of the pitch and the hard graft was kept going by Cathal Boyle in particular running after every ball but it was Doalty who was rewarded with another after a good passage of play from a few of the lads, it didnt finish there when Mark Ward popped up to make it 3 -1 to strand. Few more chances came and we hit the side netting after David Mccarron did all the hard work but failed to hit the back off the net, game finished Milford 1 strand 3 Well done to all the lads in what was a real test of character today #UTS Next weekend its a home fixture v Cranford in maghery at 2 o clock.
