Milo is the sweetest and most affectionate dog I have met in a long long time. Although he has been through hell and was in unimaginable pain when we first met he greeted me with tail wags and gentle kisses. Milo has the most soulful and intelligent eyes that show every emotion he is going through. Milo was so happy to see me but on our long ride I saw that he was prepared for the worst and lost all hope. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see his eyes fade in despair and I had to pull over to hug and kiss him and tell him that he is safe and nobody will ever hurt him again. Milo is just a pup but he has endured unthinkable horror during his short life. Milo was used as bait for dog fighting and then dumped to die in the woods in Balch Springs in far south Dallas. Milo has bite wounds and cuts all over his malnourished body and several large deep holes on one of his legs where chunks of his flesh are completely ripped out. Thankfully fate lead Milo to a very kind man who reached out for help and I was able to get Milo over to Ashleys where we cleaned up his wounds and gave him pain meds and antibiotics. Milo is running a fever and one of his legs is severely swollen from the infection and necrosis. I will be taking Milo to Mercy Animal Clinic at 7 am- I hope they will be able to save whats left of his shredded leg. Milo urgently needs a loving FOSTER HOME where he can get back on his paws and experience being loved for the very first time in his life. Milo is such a kind and innocent soul- this boy doesnt have one mean bone in his body. Milo is absolutely starved but he is very gentle and very trusting. Ashley Lancaster Cunniff and I had to wash his wounds and bandage his torn up leg but Milo stuck it out through the pain because I know he understood that we were trying to help him.
