Mimi walked into our patio doors July 5, 2014 and was so skittish she would hide in tiny places, try to scratch her way out of the patio doors, and hide in the litter box all night that I had in an oversized dog crate. Shed startled easy hissed and swiped. November update: Shes put on weight, greets me when I get home will tap my thigh if Im sitting to tell me she wants to cuddle. Shell lay in my lap for as long as I let her. Shes still skittish and easily startled at visitors but never swipes at me. Shes never pottied out of place and she used to be crated at night. Now I put the doggy crate away and she sleeps in a soft house or outside my bedroom door if I leave it open. Shes funny, I feed a can of soft food in the a.m. and at night dry food. Shell look at the dry food and whine a few seconds and then eat it when I dont give in. She has a sisterly bond with Azumi and they play together which has made Azumi more playful and happy. The first month or two she ignored cat toys and the cat tree. Now you can see how playful she is from the video and she practically flies up the cat tree. We all love her and its also thanks to Ann Marie Dori who cared for the colony of cats in our neighborhood.
