Mineral oil - Why it is Bad for your Skin Mineral oil is a petrochemical product, which means that it is derived from crude oil. It is a by product of the process used to create petroleum products (gasoline). So you are basically putting gasoline/crude oil on your skin, which your body is absorbing. Ingredients are often used because it is cheaper to produce which means more profit. There is an abundance of mineral oil being made because it is a by-product of the crude oil refining process. So therefore it is extreamely cheap. Mineral oil has been linked to a number of skin problems, including acne. The problem with mineral oil in moisturizers and other skin care products and cosmetics is that it clogs the pores of the skin. This also means that the skin is more limited in it’s natural ability to purge toxins. Mineral oil slows down skin function and cell development, resulting in premature aging. Mineral oil is a common ingredient in commercial lotions, creams, and baby care products (baby oil is 100% mineral oil!). In fact 98% of all cosmetics use mineral oil, including your eye shadow, blush, lipstick, shaving cream, moisturizers and body lotions. It is also used in most SPF sunscreens. 100% natural products are usually hard to find, expensive, and may not work as well. Since we only do direct selling, the products are much cheaper than they would be in store, also considering the high quality and amazing anti-aging formula and technology that no one else on the market has.
