Minister of Music Search Washington Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church is a predominately African-American congregation located in historic Midtown St. Louis, just blocks from the Fox Theater, Symphony Hall, and Grandel Theater, is seeking a Minister of Music who will provide spiritual leadership and oversee all aspects of its Music Ministry. The ideal candidate must be proficient with the following: • Organ • Piano/Keyboard • Read Music • Play by ear • Versatile with both traditional and contemporary gospel, hymns, spirituals and anthems. Working closely with the Pastor and Choirs Director, the candidate will be responsible for: Planning and coordinating music for all worship services (i.e., Sundays, revivals, funerals, etc.). • Lead and direct choir members during worship services. • Supervise all musicians. • Conducting weekly choir rehearsals. • Teaching, training, and coordinating choir schedules and outside invitations. • Coordinating with Pastor, Choirs Director, Presidents and other Chairpersons in preparing special musical presentations for church activities and programs. • Ensuring that all musical instruments, such as the piano, organ and audio equipment are in proper order at all times. • Selecting, purchasing and ordering music for the church. • Other duties as assigned by the pastoral leadership of Washington Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Salary range is $21,000 - $26,000 depending on education, training and experience. Applicants will be asked to submit to background check.
