Miranda tagged me to share 5 dream roles. This is hard. There are so many, but some have stuck around for years ... Ill only put in one Shakespeare or this list would be Ridiculous. Im also only going to put down roles that are feasible at my age, not mature-actress dream-roles. 1. OPHELIA (Shakespeare) (as if youre surprised) -- the thing about Ophelia is TECHNICALLY I played her once, but not in a full version of Hamlet. And I act her scenes out every summer for my own amusement. But I think I will continue to reach for Ophelia until Im too old to play her, no matter how many times I might get the opportunity. She is the main reason I stayed an actor during harder times. I would also love to sing her role in the opera version of Hamlet, or at least learn her aria. *Dream role since: high school (so, over 10 years) 2. CHRISTINE (Andrew Lloyd Webber) in Phantom Of The Opera and/or Love Never Dies. * Dream role since: early, early childhood. 3. VIOLETTA (Giuseppe Verdi) in La Traviata, the opera. You have no idea how much I want this. *Dream role since: childhood. As in, age 4. 4. STELLA (Tennessee Williams) in A Streetcar Named Desire. Because its my name and no other reason. ;) Well, and shes fun. Dream role since: ??? 5. RACHEL (Alan Rickman) in My Name Is Rachel Corrie ... one I might co-produce in the near future, having GIVEN UP the chance to play her back when I was a waitress and didnt have time to do anything. :( Dream role since: 2005/6? I would also love to play Laura in The Glass Menagerie and ALL of the women in Les Mis. Sigh. If I was a man, these roles would be on my list: HAMLET MERCUTIO BIFF LOGAN ENJOLRAS PHANTOM I tag - YOU!!!!
