Mockratees would not be a creative company were it not for the gene pool I swam in ...thanks to my dad whose birthday would be today...I share this poem with all of you and thank you for your love and support!!! Where are you? Can you see me? My heart? My thoughts mixed with tears searching for a clear image Of your eyes, your smile, your larger than life presence? Do the tears help or hinder your view Do the clouds, if they exist at all fog your view or transmit from us to you? Are you surrounded by those who loved you and passed before? There would be some much comfort in knowing Skip the penny trick and stop by any time you want to tell us That you know and see and feel all and that everything is peaceful Are you at rest and free and unfettered by contraptions and constraints? Can you feel all we think and send to you each and every waking moment? Can you enter and exit our dreams, homes? hopes? Do you see how we long for a final word, caress, touch, smile, twinkle from those crazy eyes? Where are you? You seem to be everywhere. In the wind The clouds The sunset The trees seem to pass your messages on from waving branch to waving branch And from knowing leaves to nodding limbs they all seem to whisper “fear not and grieve not for I will never leave your side” But you know what? It doesn’t seem anywhere near enough! Some holes just can’t be filled with mounds of memories Some voids will remain as craterous spaces Your love remains but your presence is irreplaceable Where are you? Is it wrong to want to be with you again or to have you with us? Do we create anchors holding you too close to us? And too far from where you are destine to go? If so forgive us for being selfish. Hearts are funny that way you know.. Clinging desperately Especially when what they seek to cling to Was pulled from its loving embrace Before we were ready to release our grasp. Where are you?
