Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou Has Been Accredited by JCI and Joined the Group of International Hospitals of the Highest Quality Recently, an email from JCI’s Headquarters in Chicago, America reached Guangzhou, says that Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has been accredited by JCI and became the first cancer hospital in China which has been accredited by the new 5th version. JCI is the most rigorous evaluation in the world for health care, which represents the highest level of medical service and hospital management. Winning JCT accreditation marks a new starting point for Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, which means its medical care and services has met the highest international standards. From 13th to 17th, October 2014, three surveyors, including Robert Christmas, Muayad AL-Hussaini and Jeanne Lim, were sent by JCI headquarters to evaluate Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. JCI accreditation includes a total of 316 standards and 1262 measuring items. The evaluation of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou was based on the most rigorous 5th version. By applying a variety of methods such as reviewing documents, having indepth interviews, conducting system tracks and patient tracking, the JCI surveyors had a highly detailed inspection as well as a comprehensive assessment in all aspects of the hospital, including hospital organization & management, medical service, medication system, infection control, quality indexes, employee qualification, facility safety, research projects, medical education, and so on. When the five-day official inspection came to an end, Mr. Robert, the team leader, handed the reports over to the hospital president Wang Huaizhong and said, “It is an excellent accreditation report and we all agreed that Modern Cancer Hospital should be recommend to JCI headquarters in Chicago and be received as a JCI-accredited hospital.” Since the preparation of JCI accreditation, Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has achieved great improvements in all aspects. There were new changes in every corner of the hospital, from the upgrading medical service to refined management process. The introduction of JCI accreditation has not only pushed the hospital to meet the international standards, but also standardized the hospital working process and changed the ideas of the employees. It was also the golden key which helped the hospital achieve a rapid quality improvement.
