Modern composer Abbie Betinis arranges Holsts well-known setting of the Rosetti poem In the Bleak Midwinter. The BYU Singers performed this piece a year after the arrangement was premiered at a Unitarian church in Minnesota. Usually limited to a major key, this arrangements fluctuation between major and minor modes to me reflect the bittersweetness of Christs mission on the earth, or our feelings of inadequacy in approaching the Savior.
