Modi’s Secy Nripendra Mishra, a CIA agent?- enquiry sought I have requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally look into the allegations being leveled against his Principal Secretary Nripendra Mishra about being a CIA agent. A Lucknow daily Nishpaksh Pratidin has given minute details about how in the year 1992, Sri Mishra, then Principal Secretary to Kalyan Singh was alleged to have made many unaccounted and unofficial journeys along with Robin Raphel, then Counselor for Political Affairs in the US Embassy. It says that Sri Mishra went with Ms Raphel from New Delhi to Khurja on 16 January 1992 for personal shopping in US embassy car No DC77. Later on 07 and 09 April, Sri Mishra allegedly, in his private capacity accompanied another US diplomat Don Mojeja to the disputed site in Ayodhya. Again from 10 to 12 April, Sri Mishra is said to have accompanied Ms Raphel to Varanasi and Bhadohi, in the Mercedes car of Nanhe Khan, a carpet merchant from Bhadohi when they stayed in Suit No S1 of the Varanasi Circuit house and in Sri Khan’s guest house. It is alleged that an enquiry was the started by the Home Ministry with the help of IB and CBI and the then CBI director S K Datta had come to Lucknow to personally enquire the matter, when it had allegedly come to light that in Sri Mishra’s house in the Bengali Market colony on Abul Fazl road, Lucknow there was a regular influx of American diplomats. This enquiry is said to have later got stopped through Sri Mishra’s influence. I have requested Sri Modi to get all these facts verified and enquired at his and to take necessary action in the light of his enquiry report, particularly considering the fact that Ms Raphel had begun her career as an economic analyst at the CIA while on the other hand, any personal contact, social gathering, informal meetings etc of an IAS officer with foreign diplomats like Ms Raphel are completely prohibited as per their Conduct Rules.
