Mom and I would have been in Oklahoma this week too. She was a true advocate for youth, language and education on all levels. She was on the planning committee and was in the process of working on the Northern Ute Language Dictionary with Miss V(egap). She said there was so much to do. She always prayed to ancestors for help to know more so she could do her work correctly. We met some amazing peple who had the same vision. Students that attended her Ute Language Immersion were surprising their grandparents at how much Ms.Arrum taught them. They would greet mom in a traditional way and shake her hand. I went into her classroom and helped sometimes. My Ute name was, Bpurnee...skunk. lol I pray everyone will have good learning experiences in Oklahoma. Thinking of you all today. Peace be with you.
