Mom update (long post): Yesterday mom had her upper GI. The doctor found growths and did a biopsy. He informed mom and dad he was 90% sure it was cancer of the esophagus. The put some type of radioactive dye in her and took images of her internal organs to check for spreading. The oncologist was scheduled to come Wednesday. Today (tuesday) Mom had a PEG put into her stomach for feeding. While there the doctor saw some growths and took a biopsy of that as well. The biopsy on her stomach is not back but the results for her esophagus came in….NOT CANCER. Turns out her esophagus is covered in tumors. The doctor was shocked, he was positive it was cancer. She has to get biopsied again in 4 weeks. Her tests did show that her gallbladder was completely shut down. They are going in Thursday to remove it, and if mom can start tolerating food between now and then they will remove the PEG too. The doctor was 90% sure, and I had everyone I knew pray for that 10% to be right, and it worked! Prayers, God, miracles, whatever you want to believe in, IT WORKED!!!!!
