Mon- 85km. Left the outskirts of LA and straight into some hills. Very dry and hot and plenty of climbing on loaded bikes. Managed to get water at a rangers station and fire station and lots of stopping including a scramble down a bank to a creek with some water. Most are dry beds at the moment. Finally after a long awaited downhill arrived in Palmdale. Set up camp on a beautiful green oval but after 10pm the sprinklers came on. Yes it is no coincidence this area is beautifully green in a desert location. Impromto move and camped on some lovely dirt instead.
