Monarch Butterfly in a Migration Tagging Study Travels 774 Miles - TopicsExpress

Monarch Butterfly in a Migration Tagging Study Travels 774 Miles from SW Arizona to the coast at San Simeon...further demonstrating Western Monarchs (West of the Rockies) migrate from the South to Central and Northern California for winter. Watch FB for updates on the migration through San Clemente State Beach Campground - Butterfly Trail. Citizen scientists have observed monarchs in numbers traveling north through the park and San Clemente residences, stopping only to nectar and move ahead northward. We should see them cluster on Butterfly Trail between Halloween and Dec. 1st if the weather cools, before they continue on to the central and northern coast for winter. https://facebook/media/set/?set=a.753177214698769.1073741852.121293871220443&type=1&l=6af923299c
