Monday morning at 09:00 I will arrive via bus (after a 16-hour Amtrak train ride) at the SF Ferry Building. Itll be the first I have seen of San Francisco in 4 years. I am both excited and apprehensive. I left a real mess behind, and I imagine there are still some out there who bear resentment or wonder whether I got better in this time. I can guarantee I have. The things that tore me apart back then no longer exist in my mind except as precautionary memories and feelings of foreboding, which is to say ~ Look out for that stuff. In my heart and mind I am as healthy as or healthier than I have ever been. I learned a lot in these years and I am returning to face the music. So to those I hurt as I lost my mind and moral compass, and to those I owe money or apologies, I beg only that you reserve judgement. Give me a chance. Im not the same man I was. I am returning to reclaim and reconcile. I look forward to seeing everyone. First priority ~ to reconnect with my immediate family. Beyond that, I am not sure what will happen. One thing I can guarantee is that youll be seeing me at The Great Dickens Christmas Fair. Give me a tip o the hat, a swig o the flask, a hearty handshake, a kiss on the cheek, a welcome however you see fit. I have missed you all and I so look forward to the lovely energy of my Fair Family. Im coming home. Praise be...
