Money isnt an idea. It is not speech. Speech and expression presupposes that everyone has access to it in some way or another and can propagate their ideals through free and fair modems. Money fails this test as a highly controlled and highly concentrated avenue that gives a handful of individuals an unfair advantage in influencing the public (and private) agenda through strategic contributions. As the middle and poor classes are placed in undue strain due to increasing wage gaps and rising living costs, it becomes increasingly difficult to use the precious money these working-class folks have left in order to combat the interests of the super-rich and politically inclined. In effect, what we see is legalized bribery, and it will only continue to worsen now that the floodgates have fallen.
