Montana Folk Festival organizers have decided to extend the deadline for artists who have procrastinated to apply for the arts market of the Montana Folk Festival coming to Butte this July 11-13. Artists from throughout Montana and those with connections to Montana are invited to apply to sell their works in the Montana Traditions Arts Market of the Montana Folk Festival that will be held in Butte, Montana July 11-13, 2014. This year we have space for up to 20 artists in a location just below the Original Mineyard, said George Everett, Festival Director. Artist feedback from last years market was that this location worked very well, so we will again locate the market where the action is, just below the Original Stage, added Everett. Artists will be selected to represent the best of Montana artistic traditions at the festival this summer and will have a 10 x 10 space to sell their work at the festival. The market this year will be coordinated by Sheri Jarvis, a potter, commission artist and Montana native with a studio and gallery located at 21 N Main Street in Butte. Sheris own work, which will be on display at the market, can be seen at sherimjarvis Both deeply traditional crafts and more contemporary handcrafted artistic expressions will be on display and available for sale at the Montana Folk Festival in July. For guidelines and an application call Sheri Jarvis or send email to sherijarvis@ymail or call 406-885-0884. To see more about what to expect at the Montana Folk Festival, visit montanafolkfestival.
