Moorebank Vet Hospital Our clinic had a positive case of Leptospirosis confirmed by our lab last week. Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection that is spread via urine of rodents. It can cause acute liver and kidney failures that are untreatable. Fortunately, it can be easily prevented by annual C7 vaccinations. Give us a call today and find out whether your pets are protected against this deadly infection. It is transmissible to dogs, and rarely to cats, but also transmitted from animals to humans and vise versa, via infected urine or tissue. Most house detergents and disinfectants are effective against this bacteria. To clarify a C3 vaccine protects against parvovirus, hepatitis and distemper; a C5 protects against the previous mentioned plus 2 components of kennel cough, a C7 is all the above plus corona virus and 1 strain of leptospirosis.
