Shauna and I both took the stage this past spring at the Hope Spoken conference and she talked about purposefully entering a year of rest. She said something that stuck with me. It was along the lines of, I dont want my kids to say that my best accomplishment as a mom was my ability to manage our hectic schedules. She told the room that her new years resolution was the year of more love, less hustle. And I immediately fell in love. You can read more about her resolution here: shaunaniequist/love-less-hustle/ Truth be told, I am naturally a less hustle kind of person (conversely, I might have a *wee* bit of laziness mixed in with my non-hustle!). But so many friends around me run a frantic, complicated, exhausting pace. I wanted to write a song for them; a song that draws people back to the simplicity of ordinary moments and simple joys. A reminder of the scripture passage that has stilled the hearts of people for generations. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
