More Rain, But Not a Washout... MORE RAIN TO COME: A somewhat stationary boundary continues to linger over Central Alabama for the start of the day on Saturday. As this boundary slowly moves from northern parts of the state towards the coast, the coverage of showers and thunderstorms is expected to remain high for the weekend (roughly 60%). These showers will be most numerous during the afternoon and early evening hours. It wont rain all the time, but showers and storms are likely to have an impact on your weekend plans from time to time. Your weekend will not be a total washout, either; if you do have anything planned outdoors be prepared for a possible interruption. Your WSFA Weather App is perfect for this situation!! By using the interactive radar with real-time data, you can know when storms will have the biggest impact on your plans. NOT AS HOT: The increased rain coverage will not only benefit us because we are bone dry, but also it should help keep the heat under control. Weekend high temperatures are expected to stay in the low 90s and could cool off even more after some rain showers. The start of the next workweek is looking to stay consistent with the weekend: highs will be in the lower 90s, with lows at night in the low to mid 70s. SUPER MOON: Did you miss the super moon back in July? Well, you might be in luck!! The second installment of this summer’s season of super moons is happening again this weekend. Unfortunately, clouds and showers may help to hide the extra bright moon. Starting Sunday, the moon is officially full. With any lucky, we might be able to see a quick glimpse of it this weekend.
