****More Rain on the Way -- BIG Storm Next Week??*** First, lets chat about the next few days -- and then well talk about the potential for the Real Deal late next week. Grab your coffee... A weak system will slide through the north state tonight bringing some light rain to the foothills with snow above 7000. We will have occasional light showers today in the warm, moist air out in front of this system. You can see the will defined front and associated low pressure cell behind it on the sat image below. We will get about 0.50 of rain. Snow levels again will be above pass levels with 2-6 on snow at the higher elevations. Rain will taper off by Saturday afternoon. A mix of clouds and sun for late Saturday and early Sunday. Increasing clouds late Sunday as another weak system moves in. This will bring some light rain on Monday, but will have minimal impact with less than 0.50 of rain. Snow levels will be above 7000. Dry weather Tuesday through early Friday. This is still a week out -- so expect some changes -- but at this time it looks like we may have the strongest storm of the season late next week. Heres the recipe shaping up: strong winds, moderate to heavy rain and snow levels down to 5000. This could shape up to be a powerful storm with higher impact than the storms this week due to the winds, saturated soil and lower snow levels. Stay tuned!!! Snow and rain totals from the NWS below. Folks -- some of you may need to check your rain gauges. We had some nutty rain totals reported out there :-) Make sure it is placed in a very open area with no tree branches nearby. It should be well away from your house. We do get wild variations in rainfall in the county, but not by more than 2-3 inches! With that said -- how much rain did you get in the last set of storms???
