More adventures had while running lately. Had to get a drink of water half way through running on Saturday afternoon during the hot weather, so ran home and had a drink and as I ran out the front door again a big wasp landed on my arm and stung me. It swelled up and hurt for a while, so I decided I better not keep running then just in case I had a reaction to it. That has just about gone now - a little pinprick there to remind me. Then this morning I got up early to go for a run. Fed the dogs and went out the front to feed the alpacas and Alice bolted for the side paddock fence. There was a family of kangaroos grazing in the paddock. They decided to run/hop up and down the fenceline in the paddock, so Alice chased them of course. I sprinted down and managed to shut the gate as the mum and baby kangaroo jumped through the fence into the bushland next door. Alice couldnt get into the paddock at least then. The young male kangaroo stood up on his back legs ready to fight Alice. She thought it was great fun and was trying everything she could to get into the paddock. They were only a couple of metres away from each other. I couldnt grab Alice to get her away, too slippery and big to grab without a collar on. And of course she wouldnt come when I called her. Ran inside and grabbed her lead, which she heard and thought I was going to take her out for a walk. That got her inside little bugger! She was puffed out, but running from one door to the next in the house to see her exciting friend. Puzzle was just doing his usual wandering around and had no idea what all the excitement was about. Thank goodness daddy kangaroo hopped over into the bushland and I could let the dogs out again and go for a lot shorter run than I was hoping for this morning. Never would have thought running was so hazardous for my health! Ive had some exciting news about the quiz night over the last few days of following up businesses/organisations too.
