More children in Derry live in poverty than in any other - TopicsExpress

More children in Derry live in poverty than in any other westminster area in Northern Ireland. The figures out today make some disturbing reading for parents in the Brandywell area, too, because there, according to the Campaign to end Child Poverty, nearly half of children are living below the poverty line. Just to put that in context, it means that children in the brandywell area are more likely to be living in poverty than in any other electoral ward in Northern Ireland. In the local authority with the worst child poverty rate - Tower Hamlets - the proportion of children in poverty is almost half (49%).
