More heavy rains Thursday led to a flash flood warning from the National Weather Service for Hall, Jackson and Banks counties until 8:15 p.m. Showers are expected to continue this afternoon, an 80 percent chance dropping to 60 percent tonight and Friday. Temperatures will sit in the mid-80s during the day, dropping to the low 70s at night. A slight clearing trend is on the way this weekend, with the chance of thunderstorms dropping to 50 percent Saturday and Sunday with temperatures reaching the upper 80s. The region saw 22 days of rain in July and a rainfall total of 14.21 inches, more than 10 inches above normal.
