More than just baby steps today, we have made strides! Brook has been on regular nasal canula all day and sitting up in the chair. Oxygen sats have been great and they are working on weaning it down. Brook had some GI upset from the tube feed so since she is eating ok they pulled the feeding tube. Physical therapy started working with her today and even though her goal was to just stand up and do some exercises, she decided to walk across the room twice. Her pain seems better managed today as they increased the pain meds, which I feel has improved her attitude. She has been silly and spunky today. we played cards and her PH nurses came and decorated her room. She had an ECHO which showed great improvements in pulmonary pressure and her new anatomy is doing exactly what they hoped. Even more excited we talked about goal for discharge from ICU and goal to be discharged home! I think both are in the very near future...absolutely unbelievable!!
