Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit - TopicsExpress

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and I give you a heart of flesh. [Ezekiel 36:26 NASB] What is a heart of stone and what is a heart of flesh? Adam had a heart of stone. He didnt care about anyone else. He cared only for himself. He certainly believed God when he said, From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die. [Genesis 2:16-17] If Adam had cared about Eve, he would not have allowed her to eat the fruit. This is the sin of Adam. This is original sin. Not caring for others is the sin that every human being is born with and destined to commit. We can see this in every young child that seeks to have only his needs fulfilled without caring at all about the needs of others around him. This is our very nature and from it there is no escape. Yeshua of Natzeret, the second Adam, had a heart of flesh. While the first Adam cared only about himself, the second Adam cared only for others. This is the defining characteristic of the heart of flesh. Yeshua was the only human being ever born with a heart of flesh and the first son of Israel to receive the promise of Gods spirit dwelling within him. John testified saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God. [John 1:32-35] Yeshua is the Messiah, son of the living God! Now every human being can possess a heart of flesh by the grace and the faith that we receive as a gift from the Most High above. This is the power of the spirit of God working in us that enables us to become a new person. Someone who cares for others more than himself. This is the defining trait of a true disciple of Yeshua and a sign that one has been born from above. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. This is the good news and it is marvelous in our eyes!
