Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, I am Pharaoh, & without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh called Josephs name Zaphenath-paneah. And he gave him in marriage Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On. So Joseph went out over the land of Egypt. Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. - Genesis 41:44-46a. *Three things I see: 1. Joseph was a baby!! But, God had matured this young man through trials & prepared him for a great work: Saving the known world from starvation. 2. Dont lose your identity. Joseph was given a pagan name, placed in a pagan culture, married a pagan woman, but like Daniel, Joseph did not worship any other but the God of Abraham in spite of his position & surroundings. 3. God uses lost people. God used Pharaoh to bring about salvation through Joseph, which preserved the Messianic line through Judah, his family being spared from the famine. Joseph is a foreshadow of Christ. Rather than saving us from starvation, Jesus saved us from eternal damnation.
