Morey-St-Denis Premier Cru Les Loups 2004. Due to 1st time - TopicsExpress

Morey-St-Denis Premier Cru Les Loups 2004. Due to 1st time trying Lambrays, opened up with a big expectation, which ended with a small pleasure. Color : Clear garnet turns to orange-brown toward clear rim. Felt color is too old for 10 years Burgundy red. Nose : Very dried cranberry dominates all the other fruits, dried roses, cinamon dust, jasmin, dry dry wooden shavings. Taste : Confirms all the nose with leather and dark roasted coffee bean come up in mid-palate but strong dry wooden pencil shavings tannin overpowers all the others componants. After 30 minutes, the harsh tannin lessens and dry fruits shows up, however, only dried cranberry was all I can catch. Overall : Got very very thirsty for more fruits. Wooden shavings tannin was too strong which made this wine unbalanced. 88
