Morning Musings "Jesus wept" John 11:35 The only record we have - TopicsExpress

Morning Musings "Jesus wept" John 11:35 The only record we have of Jesus weeping was at the tomb of Lazarus. What moved Jesus, the visible image of the invisible God and the creator of all things to weep? Like the Jews present with Christ at the tomb some of us believe Jesus wept because of His great love for Lazarus. However dearly beloved, I beg to differ. For He had previously said "Lazarus is asleep and I go to wake Him up". The Master knew exactly what He was doing, the situation was no surprise to Him. The previous verse says when He saw Mary and the Jews weeping He groaned in the spirit and was troubled? Why? Dearly beloved, Jesus was troubled and frustrated in His spirit because despite all He had said to them, they still could not believe He could raise Lazarus from the dead. He wept and was troubled because of the unbelief of the people. They could not see beyond death, they thought dead was the end. Little did they know the resurrection and the life Himself was standing right before them. No situation is beyond the power of the Lord. And just as your faith brings pleasure to His heart, your unbelief saddens His heart. This morning, is the Lord rejoicing over your faith or weeping at your unbelief? Shalom and Good Morning.
