He declared that the Congress would form next Government in the State. He cautioned the people against the designs of communal forces, who, he said, have become active ahead of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State. He added that these organisations would try to exploit religious and emotional sentiments of the people but asked the gathering to see through their designs. The Union Health Minister announced upgradation of 100 bedded District Hospital in Kishtwar to 200 bedded, Maternity Hospital for Kishtwar subject to availability of land, 30 bedded hospitals for Marwah and Warwan, 22 new Medical Sub Centres for Banihal and a number of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at different places. Addressing public meetings at Khari and Ukhral in Banihal Assembly segment, Neel Top in Doda constituency and inter-acting with various delegations in Kishtwar town during his whirlwind tour of three districts, which formed part of erstwhile Doda district, Mr Azad called upon the party leaders and activists to brace up for next year’s Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to make Congress victorious in both the polls. With this, the holy town of Katra will get train connectivity with rest of the country. Union Ministry of Railways has decided to inaugurate 25-kilometer Udhampur-Katra railway line in the third week of December in order to provide much awaited railway connectivity to the holy town and base camp of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine. The exact date would be finalized in consultation with the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, who is likely to give formal green signal to the first ever passenger train on the track. At present some left over works in Tunnel No.1 and Tunnel No.3 are going on at a rapid pace, sources said that the Construction Division of the Northern Railways has conveyed that it will complete the ongoing works within next 10 to 15 days. The 23 kilometer Udhampur-Katra track involves 11 kilometer tunnels, nine major bridges,& 29 minor bridges. The tallest bridge in this section is 85 meter high and the longest tunnel is 3.15 kilometer. Governor-Minister Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Minister for Tourism called on Mr. N. N. Vohra Governor at raj Bhawan yesterday. During their meeting, Mr. Mir briefed the governor about the various initiatives taken by the Tourism Department in the past year for the promotion of tourism in each of the three regions of the state. The Governor reiterated his concerned about the vital importance of protecting and preserving the natural beauty of the scenic areas through effective enforcement of traffic regulations, maintenance of roads and bridges, collection and disposal of garbage, identification of land fill sites, storm water drainage system etc. Mr. Mir stated that his department was sensitively aware of these concerns and doing all that is possible to maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of every area. Mr. Sham Lal Sharma Minister for PHE also called on Mr. N. N. Vohra Raj Bhawan yesterday. During their meeting, the Governor and Minister discussed various issues relating to the measures being taken for augmenting drinking water supply and irrigation facilities in various parts of the State. Referring to fast increasing demand for supply of water to cater to the requirements of Shri Mata Vaishnio Deviji Yatra, the Governor stressed the high importance of timely planning and timely executing new water supply schemes to meet the future requirements of fast expanding Katra town and its surrounding areas. The DGP and the Governor also discussed several important issues which relate to internal security management by the State Police Dogri News Bulletin (M) 15.11.2013 Ajay Sadhotra Minister for Labour, Planning and Development Ajay Kumar Sadhotra has said that focussed attention is being paid on development of Jammu and Kashmir with thrust in infrastructure and upgradation of various facilities to enhance the quality of life of the people. Addressing a large public meeting after laying foundation stone of 26.70 meter bridge at Choi at Dhetryal village of Marh block, the Minister enumerated various initiatives taken in this regard and said the effort will continue with renewed vigour and determination. The bridge will cost Rs 41.40 lakhs and the Minister exhorted the executing agency to ensure its completion within stipulated time frame. He said the facility will prove immensely beneficial for the farming community which had to otherwise take long routes to reach their holdings. Mr Sadhotra Urged the people to remain vigilant against the disruptive forces, Mr Sadhotra said these forces were employing all deceptive tactics to create wedge between various segments of the society. He asked the people to maintain unity and alienate these elements in the larger interest of peace and harmony. Dogri News Bulletin (M) 15.11.2013 Aashoora Aashura, the day of sacrifice and mourning, is being observed across Jammu and Kashmir today when Muslims recall the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain Saheb the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad Saheb in the battle of Karbala on the 10th of Muharram, fourteen centuries ago. Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have paid tributes to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and other martyrs of Karbala on the eve of Muharram. In his message, the Governor said Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions sacrificed their lives for upholding the high values of truth and righteousness. Omar Abdullah in his message, said Karbala teaches people the lesson of upholding the principles of righteousness under all circumstances. Omar prayed for peace and well being of the State and its people. SDPO RS Pura Diwakar Singh said the BSF has handed over the Pakistani national to Arnia police, where a case has been registered against him for further investigations/ No significant recoveries were made from his possession.
