Morning Prayer with the Bishop Word for the Day: Peace Thought: George Bernard Shaw, write your sad times in sand, write your good times in stone. Scripture Reading: Psalms 1 The amazing thing about serving God is that He will give you peace that will surpass the understanding of the world. We are not exempt from things happening to us in life experiences such as bills, unemployment, insufficient funds, sickness, hurt, pain, death and even accidents. But in the midst of what we are going through, if we keep our eyes on the prize, stay focused and keep our minds stayed on Him, He will keep us in perfect peace in midst of the storm and craziness of the world and people dont understand how can you still be happy, have joy, go on, not loose your mind, go buck wild on someone, open up a can of or bust a cap, oh we now weve been to the brink of no return and to the point of WANTING to loose it but thanks be to God who have given us the victory in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. We have to learn to step back, compose ourselves and regroup and the Holyghost which is our comforter, which leads and guides us into all truth will give us peace if we DONT OVERRIDE what the Spirit is saying. Sometimes we just have to take a moment and SHHHHHH, be quiet and LISTEN to what the Spirit is SAYING to the church, US, for we are the church. So if you need some peace, take time to SHUT UP and listen, blunt, but to the point. Dont be quick to give answer but to give an listening ear, naturally and spiritually. At my old stompn grounds at the Garden of Prayer United Holiness Church, in Washington D.C., under the leadership of late great Pastor Pecola Copeland, we us to always read Psalms 122 for opening our testimony/devotional service, people dont know what that is now. So in the words of Psalms 122, I say pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love Israel. Peace will be within your walls and prosperity within your homes. For your sakes and benefit, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Peace be unto you all this holiday season. The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Be bless. youtu.be/RmfFhrHqx_Y FYI: Since people will be traveling and with family for Christmas,THERE WILL BE NO Morning Prayer with the Bishop on 12/25, Christmas Morning. HOWEVER!, it is encouraged that you GET UP, after snoring and slobbering all night, just before opening any gifts and have 6 am morning prayer with your FAMILY as a whole to start the day. Dont blame it on the children because they will be the first things up at the crack of dawn. REMEMBER, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!, so they say. How about taking the time to remember and tell Him thank you first.
