Morning all, Firstly I would like to congratulate all your players who were selected in our Representative Teams. There was one or two individuals who had their behavior addressed but overall all the players were on their best behavior. The standard this year was top notch and we had no send offs. I would like to thank all the staff involved Alby Anderson - dedicated and committed to ensuring our junior players reach their potential in the game. My right hand man in the planning and execution of the selections, training, mentoring, and the trip. Coaches - Jamie Okane U13, Cameron Penny U14 , Bobby Berg U15 , Ian Lyiard U16, Robbie Moore U16 Girls - Thank you all so much. This was the best coaching team for our young men and women. These guys worked very hard over the weekend and the results were fantastic. U13 - won , U14 - 3rd, U15 - 3rd, U16 2nd, U16 Girls - Won. Assistant Coaches & Managers - U13 Brett Graham Ian Shotten, U14 Paul Stevens, U15 Eddy Daniels Auggie Hunt, U16 - Paul Callaghan, U16 Girls Melissa Moore - thank you all all for your assistance. To our Sports Trainers - Barry Beswick, Craig McKell, Glenn Budge, Des Pascoe - For the medical treatment, strapping, massages, fitness assessments for all our players. They all did an outstanding job over the weekend. We had a few serious injuries and the care and treatment of those injured was outstanding. To the Cairns staff who applied for NQ Marlins positions and made the cut after an extensive selection process Robbie Okane U16 Assistant Coach and Paul Çallaghan U14 Assistant Coach , Bobby Berg FAO well done. Onto the Games. We made history folks. 28 players selected across the age groups. Our players are just as competitive, and their skills and abilities are outstanding. The level of football these kids played over the weekend even when hurt was top rate. To all the players who missed out on selection please do not be disappointed with your performance. You all played very well but it is extremely had to pick 19 players against that level of skill. You should all be very proud of your performance both on and off the field. Also special thanks to Justine Heidemann who made me coffee to keep me going when I thought a few times I was going to collapse from exhaustion. Planning has begun for next year. Just not sure where it will be held.........................................
