Morning all you Namibian students. Wanna be a good Medic? Well follow these simple rules: 1. Never quote anything anyone says. Read up what you heard and learn the facts. 1. Never give up 1. You know more than you think 1. Think before you speak 1. Understand what you are speaking about. 1. If you dont understand something then ask. 1. Dont get upset when you ask someones opinion and they give it to you and it doesnt agree with your opinion. We all think differently. 1. Knowledge comes with experience. So although a protocol may say one thing, experience will teach you that the protocol is not always right. 1. Never be afraid to ask your peers. They may have learnt our understood something you didnt. 1. What you put into becoming a Medic is what you get out. 1. Text books are seven years behind the research. Always keep updated. What your text book says today may be different tomorrow. 1. Knowledge is power, but knowledge should be shared. 1. No one person is better than another, experiences have just been different. 1. Respect is the golden rule. If you want respect remember this: Respect is earned. Go out there today with confidence in knowing that today you are more experienced than yesterday. Peace.
