Morning my lovelies. Hope we are all enjoying the weekend. More and more I have clients and my students coming to me with horror stories of experiences theyve had at other nail salons and I just feel I need to highlight this subject again. You see all these posts of discount sites and websites such as gumtree offering nails for a ridiculously cheap price, which of course for the client is appealing. However time again I am finding its the client thats paying the price. Now I am not by anyway saying that all cheap nails are bad nails but lets be truthful is it not the age old saying, you pay cheap, you get cheap. We need to take some responsibility as techs and educate our clients. Weve all either been to college or independent training academies such as myself to gain our knowledge and qualifications to become the professionals, spending a lot of money too so why do we sell ourselves cheap! I am tired of hearing and seeing the damage some of these nail techs out there are doing, NO its not just as simple to do nails as most think. We work extremely hard studying the anatomy of the nail, skin and nail conditions, contra indications and thats just the consultation part. We also study health and hygiene, our products and ingredients and the safe correct procedure on how to apply the enhancement to the nail. So WHY do we still have ladies going to these salons???? I have had customers say because of price, I know myself Id rather pay a little more to know I am in the safe hands of a professional, will achieve a stunning finish,they will last longer than two days and I am not going to contract any harmful infections. I am sure weve all got a story to tell about a bad experience. Lets spread the word and support the good techs and salons out there. You wouldnt eat in a grotty unhygienic restaurant so its beyond me why youd get such a personal treatment in a nail bar with the same standards.
