Most Alaskans are opposed to HB 77, aka the Silencing Alaskans Act. A new poll has confirmed that. But the Parnell administration isnt listening and is going to try to ram this through the legislature. HB 77 has been scheduled for two hearings next week. One is on Monday at 3:30pm in the Senate Resources Committee. During that hearing the Dept. of Natural Resources is expected to present its amendments to HB 77, amendments that have been drafted without public or tribal consultation. The second hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 3:30, also in the Senate Resources Committee. Public testimony will be taken at the Wednesday hearing. This is your opportunity to speak out.
