Most of the bands I worked with either became friends or at least - TopicsExpress

Most of the bands I worked with either became friends or at least remained friendly nodding acquaintances with me. One of those that didnt like me was David Jones of After School Special. I dont remember what the problem was, I probably made the impolitic move of slagging off on his new band, Enemy You, in my catalog or something. (He changed genres from straight-on 1990s pop-punk to the glossy SoCal sound epitomized by Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords, etc.) This is another band that I discovered as a 7 promo through distribution and, like the KFM debut, I probably touched a majority of the copies that were ever sold of the two singles released by other labels. I sold through the 1,000 copies of their CD and that was that. This is pretty much prototypical of the sound I was trying to do with Mutant Pop, a wall of distorted guitars with clean-sounding vocals over the top, catchy hooks and harmonies, and a sort of warmed-over teen angst lyrics. Its a pity David and I didnt get along better but bells cant be unrung... https://youtube/watch?v=0Cl3mYtDbC0
