Most of the time I try to put funny stuff out here, sometimes I have a thought I dont need to talk about, but would like to share. As I get older, I realize more and more life is about intent. People make mistakes, bad decisions, errors in judgement, or are just plain dumb; whatever you want to call it. In any case, all of us have done it, and it seems we start to forget how imperfect we were (are), or how we felt after doing something dumb. If your intent was to do right...keep trying. There are lessons to learn, and lessons to teach; if your intent is to teach a lesson..try to make sure the lesson is not lost in the presentation. If you are trying to teach someone to correct their mistakes and take ownership, try not to simultaneously teach them they have no one to rely on in their lives. Everybody needs somebody, maybe not now..but you will. If you have ever felt unwelcome by your family, I know how you feel and Im sorry. If you have ever made somebody feel unwelcome, and you are one of those who has felt unwelcome; dont forget how you felt...and attempt to make it right. There are some people you just have to detach from and let go, thats how things work...unhealthy relationships should be given up. Even if you have to give up on someone in your family, let them know they can still rely on you if absolutely necessary. If your intent is to merely hurt someone because you think you can, thats unhealthy...dont be dumb. I have been preached to by so many about family and reliance, only to realize its just talk. Let me tell you now, there are some in my family I dont like one bit, but my parents never preached family to me; they took care of business when it was time and SHOWED me how I should be. The ones I dont like can still rely on me if the time comes. If you have an unhealthy relationship now, and you think you have contributed nothing to making it unhealthy...think again. I have some, and I know I have helped make them that way, but have made the decision to either let go...or try to make good on what Ive done. Youre not always wrong to just let it go......and youre NEVER wrong for showing someone they can rely on you.
