Most of the time weather on Fort Myers Beach is perfect! But this time of year we can get some pretty nasty thunderstorms that roll in pretty quickly. Sadly on Tuesday this week a large storm with over 700 lightening strikes came upon the beach and 3 people were struck. 1 man passed away while 2 teenagers were taken to the hospital. Lightening is very dangerous and we want to stress that when a storm approaches please do NOT stay in the pool or on the beach. Florida is the lightening capital of the United States for a reason. Please keep the victims families in your thoughts and prayers and make sure that when you hear thunder you find shelter indoors!
