Most of us have an ink pen we really like to use. Its a simple thing , but I wanted to share a story about a pen Ive been using on the set (in the event of breaking news since we are all digital now- its the reporter in me). This pink pen pops up a different word with each click. Tonight it says strength. The woman who gave it to me is a breast cancer survivor that I met while on vacation in Florida 2 months ago. Her name is Melody. Shes from a small town in Colorado. My sister, daughter , niece and I struck up a conversation with her on a pontoon ride through the Everglades. We asked her about a pink watch she was wearing- knowing she was probably a survivor. Our visit was brief, but so meaningful for all of us as she shared her story. This is Melody on the right with her back to the camera. Its the only photo I could find of her from our vacation pics. Every time I use this pen, I think of all the Melodys out there who need our love, encouragement, and prayers.
