Most of you know what The Ramsey Keller Memorial means to Evan and me, but if you dont, let me share it again. When Anna died, we were told at the hospital that cremation was a free option, or we could pay around $7000 for a funeral....Well, we were already looking at $40,000 in hospital bills, so what could we do? But what about our children. They were never going to see their baby sister. We had to decide before we left the hospital...You can imagine the heartache as we weighed the cost vs the emotions of our children. As time ran out and a decision had to be made, a friend (thank you Amanda Burton!) told us about the Keller Family and how their foundation pays for baby funerals. It was the answer to our secret prayers. The children got to see their baby sister, they held her, told her they loved her, our families got to see her, we said goodbye, and because of the Ramsey Keller Memorial Fund (and the generosity of Stevenson & Sons and our wonderful family of God) we paid nothing. There was no bill for her casket, no dollar sign over the memory of her funeral, just peace. That peace was a great gift in a moment of dark sorrow. That is why I support this foundation without reservation. I want to give other families the same gift we were given.
