Most should be familiar with the film Mama (2013) that was directed by Andres Muschietti and Produce by Guillermo del Toro (director of Hellboy (2004)., Pans Labyrinth (2006), and Pacific Rim (2013)) but there may be those that are not aware that this was based off a short Mamá (2008) that Gulliermo del Torro fell in love with. Mr. Torro produced a full length feature film and allowed the original writing team of Andres Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti to write the script and allowed Andres to direct. There are a lot of major differences between the Feature and the short but still the short shows the potential that the Muschiettis have. This type harks back to old school horror where the suspense was the major factor and the monster was briefly shown. This allowed the imagination to run wild. So, for its intriguing and thought provoking nature I have chosen the original short Mama (2008) Amdres and Barbara Muschietti for your consideration.
