Moto2: Heartache for Kyle Smith as ride falls through 28 July 2013 The withdrawal of valuable sponsorship funding leaves the 21-year old without a ride for the second half of season Englishman Kyle Smith has seen his world championship dreams dashed at only the halfway point of the 2013 season after personal sponsor Wild Wolf announced their withdrawal from the Blusens Avintia team. Smith was competing in his debut season in the Moto 2 world championship alongside 2010 world champion Toni Elias. The Spanish energy drinks company that sponsors a host of athletes including Moto 3 championship hopeful Maverick Viñales, has committed to building a large health and fitness facility and recently decided this takes financial precedence for the foreseeable future. Although the Blusens Avintia squad would like to continue with their two-man line up, their current financial predicament has forced them to reduce the squad to one rider. Although he has failed to score world championship points during the 2013 season, the Yorkshire rider produced some impressive displays, most notably qualifying inside the top 20 in Catalunya before producing a season best result of 17th the following day. It is believed Toni Elias will continue with the Blusens Avinita team for the remainder of the season. Elias currently sits 19th in the Moto 2 standings. crash.net/motogp/news/193988/1/moto2_heartache_for_kyle_smith_as_ride_falls_through.html
