Movie Review...Sin CityWith an all-star cast you would usually expect a really good performance by everybody. But this movie was just a little bit better than confusing. There were characters in the movie that were back from the dead with absolutely no explanation. In this movie you have Jessica Alba ,Josh Brolin…you even have Christopher Melonie, and the thing that struck me about all the actors was that Powers Booth had the best performance given in a movie. He played a great villain. He was even more menacing than Marv who is supposed to be the movies big heavy. Bruce Willis, who I usually enjoy, and Ray Liotta seemed to be both phoning in their performances. The movie has three basic stories at the same time. And the stories are supposed to coincide with one another. But they actually just kind of drift. Sin City is a city filled with really really bad people, really really evil politicians, and unfortunately really really average acting. Now one thing that was good about the movie is Miho finally gets to just cut loose. In fact they could’ve just made a movie with Marv and Miho doing their thing. There are a couple of pretty good fight scenes so I guess I can give them that. Now don’t get me wrong it was an okay movie. But it was okay like expecting a bite of steak and getting a hotdog instead. There’s nothing wrong with a hotdog but if you are expecting steak it’s just not what you wanted. So I would say that this movie is plenty of good old fashion American hotdog in a movie theater that should’ve had steak. Starring: Mickey Rourke. Jessica Alba. Josh Brolin run time: 1 hour 42 minutes rated R
