Moyo and Mutapa on their early morning stroll today. Josephine - TopicsExpress

Moyo and Mutapa on their early morning stroll today. Josephine (the dog) is still very much part of the elephant family! You can see that Moyo has one of his back legs bandaged for support. His exercise is strictly limited to prevent any stress damage to those legs. Its a bit of a catch 22, as he needs exercise to help with his digestive system and to prevent bloat. As with most things, its finding balance! Mutapa is gaining strength and vitality. We think that he is younger than originally estimated. I believe that he is only about 2/3 weeks old. His blood results show that he received colostrum, which is an enormous relief. The bonding between the two elephants is simply astonishing and I believe that this will go a long way in ensuring their survival, through these early days. Moyo has an incredible sense of humour, giving Mutapa the much needed emotional lifts that he needs during the day! Elephants may well cry, but they certainly laugh too!!
