Mr.A is 18 years old male who was coming home after work at night was bitten by a straw dog. He went next day to local BHU that injected him with rabies vaccine S/C OD for 14 days.He completed course regularly. After 2 months, he was brought to PIMS with hydrophobia, aerophobia and diagnosed as having RABIES. RABIES is a death sentence as it has no cure and he will die eventually. THE ISSUE IS THAT WHY WHO banned vaccines are still available in primary health centres. Why he was not given human diploid cell vaccine that is supposed to be available at every govt hospital/health centre?????????? What is the fault of this young guy who has to die because he was given a vaccine that was held by WHO due to inefficacy??????
