Mr. Mayor. Can you explain to me why we have all these permit needs? First I was charged a permit to have a water heater replaced. I hired a professional plumber to come in and replace an aging heater, only to have the city inspector spend 2 seconds and says yup.. its installed. What a waste of money to have him driving up and down the street looking for violations. Im also the President of my HOA and Ive been replacing roofing. Today 2.. Yes 2.. City employees came by asking how much roofing I was doing any if I pulled permits. I wasnt aware I needed to pull permits for a simple re-shingling, done by a professional, licensed roofing contractor. If I had told them I was only replacing 50% of the shingles I wouldnt need a permit. Why are we being nickeled and dimmed by pointless permits?
